CAPTAIN BAJA FAQ'S

 

 WHAT GEAR SHOULD I BRING?​

 

 Full riding gear, well ventilated preferred. A good camelback a must. Please no new boots, we want you to  be as comfortable as possible. If you leave something behind we have gear to rent.

WHAT DO I NEED TO FLY TO MEXICO?

Passport. On the airplane you will be issued a tourist visa (no cost) to fill out and get processed at Cabo San Lucas Airport before picking up your luggage~must keep stamped portion of visa for return. Once you claim your luggage you will exit thru a random bag inspection. Once thru, Captain baja will be waiting for you!

HOW SAFE IS BAJA SUR?

We are not effected by the well publicised border violence. As people living here will atest to feeling safer in Baja than alot of places in the USA. The further south of the border, the safer you are.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I GET INJURED?

 

There are clinics in most small communities with capacity to transport to larger hospitals. Captain Baja carries a variety of emergency supplies on board their chase vehicles. Staff is EFR/spinal injury CERTIFIED

WHAT HAPPENS IF I BREAK A BIKE?

Captain Baja Adventure Tours has a damage liability contract. Our replacement costs are not in excess of what you would normally pay. 

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO RIDE?

Oct-May average temps are 80-85, afternoon breeze, perfect. Aug-Sept even though it's hotter, we do get thunderstorms building in the mountains, we pray for rain which means moisture in the dirt, no dust, epic, pristine riding conditions!

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

Extra batteries for cameras, go-pros etc., hand tape, imodium, chapstick, beach attire, sunscreen, suimsuit, flip flops, hat. Eyedrops, sweatshirt for cool evenings.

WHAT NOT TO BRING!

 


NO. Absolutely NO drugs, NO weapons, NO Ammo. Please check your bags for that 22 shell! There will be militar (our friends) check point inspections along the way!

FOOD?? WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

We believe highly in healthy eating. We have many bueno 'secret' places we love. Wether it's seafood, carne, canitas...Mexico has some of the best comida anywhere! Bona petite!

IS RIDING IN BAJA DANGEROUS?

Motorcycle riding is dangerous no matter where your riding. Our staff is EFR certified, EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONSE with Spinal immobilization. Just remember we are in very remote areas, USE YOUR HEAD. We are NOT racing here, we are trail riding.

MONEY, MONEY, MONEY

Small bills are preferred. We suggest withdrawing pesos from your bank account upon arrival, vs. exchanging money at the airport! Please advise your bank and creditcard people of your Mexico travel plans!

WILL I GET LOST?

No way Jose! We are now using LEADNAV Systems the cutting edge of GPS support. No one get's left behind!
